Christmas In Bali

So we went to Bali for Christmas this year. It was so much fun and an experience I will never forget. We seen a volcano, a beautiful waterfall, we took the boys to Waterbom Park, lounged by the pool and learned how to barter. We spnt a day in the Monkey Forrest and seen some beautiful Temples and were even blessed. I have never met more friendly people in my life. Both the kids spent a day pool side and took a break to get massages. I spent 4 hours in a Massage place getting a pedicure, manicure and facial and 2 hour full body massage, all for $35. Because the Balinese are a Hindu community they don't celebrate Christmas....However, the hotel we stayed at put together a Christmas show for us with dinner and entertainment. We had a D.J dressed as Santa and live music.

So Santa comes in right before dinner to shake hands with all the kids and wish them a Merry Christmas....then we eat...Santa makes yet another appearance and this time he strips...turns out he is a body builder and then some more come out and start a pose off. We all thought this was pretty neat and now the boys think that Santa is a muscle man, lol... So the D.J starts to play and I am pretty sure the song was about whores and booze and drugs... not festive, then we had belly dancing and then.....

Enter Drag Queen....now the kids think that Beyonce's put a ring on it is a Christmas Carol! The Queen then gave everyone a lap dance and kissed our friend Micheal... Max thought that was great. Then he heard us say that he was kissed by a man... Now he tells everyone that Michael was kissed in Bali by a boy and he's a boy too!!! So now that I have warped my kids idea of Chrismas and gave them their first taste of Drag, I am sure that I will be paying for their therapy for years to come.

It was definatley a Christmas I will never forget and even the boys can't wait until we go to Bali next year for Christmas!

Kelly, you have no idea what great parents you are. Mark and I did the same thing, hauling the kids around wherever we went, and because of it they were able to make "informed" decisions of what they wanted to make of their lives. Drugs, booze, strippers, bikers, swearing, fighting, etc., wasn't a big thing because they'd been there, seen it; therefore, no peer pressure. Now look at them, eh? Cops and a mom. No worries. Ordinary people and certainly better than their parents.

Hey, Deanna thought she heard about you on the radio, some chick who wrote an email from Australia who originates from the Innisfail/Penhold area re a rock band. Was that you?

It wasn't me on the radio. Thanks for thinking that we are doing a good job with our boys. I think we are too, but it is always nice to hear someone else think it too, lol! How have you been?
